Katie and James’s Joyous and Beautiful Wednesday Wedding

Who better to be the first JayBird Events couple than one of my most trusted friends and her soulmate? Not only was Katie and James’s wedding so much fun to plan and work, but it was also incredibly gratifying to witness their love for each other shine through like the summer Colorado sun at every possible moment.

Well, almost every moment. Alanis Morissette may say it’s ironic for it to rain on your wedding day but for K & J the day wouldn’t have been complete without a little precipitation. When we traveled to Davidson Mesa Trailhead in Louisville, Colorado Katie told me that no matter where she and James go on vacation, whether it’s supposed to rain or not, it always does. She approached James for their first look with a clear umbrella to keep her dry which ended up providing some adorable and unique wedding photos! After the rain let up, they were able to exchange their private vows where James also mentioned how perfect it was that they got a little rainstorm on their big day.

The rest of the day could not have gone better. The Simon was the perfect setting for their classic yet modern marriage celebration. I was lucky enough to serve as both their wedding planner and florist, and I was honored to bring Katie’s vision of dozens of bud vases with dainty lavender and white flowers to life on their long farmhouse style tables.
