Cassie and Kyle’s Beautiful and Impossibly Magical Wedding
When I asked Cassie and Kyle to each describe their wedding day using one word, instantly Kyle responded with “beautiful!” Cassie on the other hand was having a more difficult time finding her word. “Exceptional…perfection! Loving…my problem is that my wedding was absolutely the most perfect and magical day of my life, and one word is impossible…but maybe magical.” For an answer that good, I’ll happily bend the rules.
I hope you’ll excuse me using this best man, maid of honor gimmick, but the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “magical” as “extremely or extraordinarily pleasant, enjoyable, or exciting.” Every part of the Bishop’s wedding day fit that description to a T, even the 95 degree weather somehow felt pleasant because everyone could tell, these two are truly besotted with each other. I had the pleasure of working on Cassie and Kyle’s wedding and attending as a guest. They already had a fabulous coordinator in Erika Weeks, but only had a short amount of time before their evening ceremony to get everything set up. They hired JayBird as their decorating team and it was my pleasure to set up their gorgeous and personalized DIY centerpieces, charming thumbprint tree guest book, and their loving memory table filled with photos of their loved ones who have passed. Some of the photos were of their family members at their own weddings, which was a tender touch.
The TLDR of how I know Cassie and Kyle is that I grew up with Cassie and became friends with Kyle in adulthood. They went to High School together and after some years adventuring the world on their own, rekindled their connection and fell madly in love. I will never forget when I opened my phone and had a message from Kyle saying “guess what” with a photo of them on a date. These two amazing people from two totally different parts of my world were together and I could feel the love radiating from that photo on my phone.
After working with Erika to get all of the aesthetic pieces of the wedding into place, it was time for me to assume my role of wedding guest for a few hours. We danced to Chappell Roan and listened to Kyle’s surprise poem he wrote for Cassie (they originally met in poetry club) through joyfully teary eyes. After they made their grand exit surrounded by beautiful bubbles I was back in wedding vendor mode, packing up their gifts and decor and making sure they had everything they needed to start their next chapter as husband and wife.
