Julia and Steve’s Authentic and Long Awaited “I Do’s”

What happens when you stand by the side of the love of your life and wait over 10 years to get married? You end up having one of the most thoughtful and heart warming weddings this wedding planner has ever seen!

We weren’t able to meet in person until a month before their wedding due to the fact that they didn’t move to Colorado until two months before, but that wasn’t a problem at all because they had so much of their planning taken care of! Usually when I meet a couple there are quite a few questions without answers, and we work together to make a plan for those. After looking back on my notes from that initial meeting, all they really needed to decide on was what they were going to eat before their ceremony and if they wanted to do a grand exit at the end of the reception. Everything else was more or less done!

It makes sense that their wedding day went off without any major hiccups, Julia and Steve are so in sync with each other. Even though their ceremony was slightly delayed by a transportation issue and the parking lot at Sunrise Amphitheater is very small, they still managed not to see each other until Julia descended the steps that serve as the amphitheater’s aisle. From that moment on, they were connected at the hip! They seamlessly navigated the crowd during cocktail hour to mingle with their guests, then later locked eyes and mouthed the words to their first dance song as they floated over the dance floor.

Their decor details were minimal but 100% true to them. Next to them on the platform at Sunrise were two hanging succulent patio planters that they took home and hung up after the wedding was done! They even made sure to include their kitties who couldn’t be a part of the celebrations by having custom cake toppers made. Julia designed all the floral arrangements herself, and the wedding party all wore outfits they already had or knew they would wear again.
